Praise For The Host

"A fantastic, inventive, thoughtful, and powerful novel.
The Host will keep you reading well into the wee hours of night, and keep you thinking, deeply, hauntingly, well after the final word. Stephenie Meyer captures character and handles story line like a master - a hybrid combination of Stephen King and Isaac Asimov." —Ridley Pearson, author of Killer Weekend

"Stephenie Meyer is an amazing phenomenon - out of the brightness of her mind and spirit comes the darkness of her stories. For no matter how much pain her characters suffer, Meyer infuses the tales with light and hope." -Orson Scott Card, author of the Ender Saga

"A fascinating, passionate, and phycological thriller. In The Host, Stephenie Meyer gives a new and surprising meaning to the phrase 'being of two minds'!" - Katherine Neville, author of The Eight

Why Should The Host Be Saved?

The Host is a book that should be saved if all of the books in the world were burned. This book isn't just another science fiction novel where aliens take over the world. We have more than enough of those. In the book, Stephenie Meyer shows us what it means and how it feels to be human, as humanity should be. Wanderer is one of the gentlest, most compassionate people I have ever heard of - and yet, she's only human. She feels anger, and sometimes uses violence, even if it is against her will. She is sickened by how she feels towards the people she dislikes, and what she sometimes sees herself doing to them - as we all should. Everyone dislikes people, everyone feels anger, and, unfortunately, everyone uses violence at one time or another. Wanderer embodies what is human, the good things and the bad. She also behaves how humanity should behave - she does use force and violence, but hates to do it, and only does when absolutely necessary. If our society acted as Wanderer did, the world might be a much better place.
